Senior Buyer – Public Sector Procurement | Up to Β£43K | South Birmingham / Hybrid

We’re supporting a key client of ours in Birmingham with the recruitment of a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team. While the role primarily focuses on medical, clinical, and surgical categories, they’re open to candidates from a generalist background, as long as you bring strong end-to-end tendering experience and a working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations.

What will you be doing?
- Managing the full tendering lifecycle – from sourcing strategy to contract award
- Supporting procurement activity across medical and surgical categories (prior experience is ideal, but not essential)
- Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, build sourcing strategies, and deliver value
- Ensuring public sector procurement compliance
- Delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance, and supporting operational needs
What are we looking for?
- Proven experience in running end-to-end public sector tenders (must have)
- Confidence working with a range of stakeholders and suppliers
- Examples of successfully managing regulated procurement activity, ideally within NHS or public sector environments
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
- CIPS or part-qualified (desirable)
