I’m working with one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of windows and doors to recruit a Bid Manager who will lead on tender submissions and help drive growth in the public sector market.
This company has a strong heritage, operating since the late 1970s, and is recognised for delivering high quality products across the trade, new build, education, and social housing sectors. With service excellence at its core, the business is now entering an exciting phase of expansion – and bids and tenders are central to that strategy.
This is a key role with future growth in mind. While initially a standalone position, the successful candidate will be instrumental in building and shaping the bid function. As the volume of opportunities increases, this role could evolve into managing a small team, offering real career progression for the right individual.
The Role
As Bid Manager, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end bid life cycle – from identifying opportunities through to submission. You’ll work closely with commercial, marketing, and sales teams to craft persuasive and compliant bids, particularly targeting planned maintenance, regeneration, and new build projects within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Bid & Tender Management

Lead the full process for PQQs, ITTs, and framework submissions

Coordinate inputs from commercial, technical, and production teams

Evaluate new opportunities in line with business growth strategy
Document Preparation & Writing

Draft and edit clear, engaging bid responses tailored to client requirements

Ensure all documentation is professionally presented and submitted on time
Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with clients throughout the bid process, including pre-tender meetings and site visits

Build positive relationships that support long-term growth

Capture and act on client feedback to refine future bids
What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience managing bids/tenders across the full life cycle

Strong writing, editing, and document preparation skills

Commercially minded with excellent project management ability

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tender portals
