Lead Engineer (WebForms, Azure & AI‑Assisted Delivery) – Contract

2 months initially | Flexible location | Remote Working – Cheshire based Client | £550pd-£600pd Inside IR35

We are looking for a hands‑on Lead Engineer to deliver at pace on a 26‑year‑old legacy WebForms system.

Tech:
.NET WebForms (95%), .NET Core, JavaScript, Azure, business logic in stored procedures.

The reality:
~780 requirements, ~2,800 Jira tickets (many under‑refined). Minimal onboarding, fast delivery expected.

What we need:

• Experience extending or modernising legacy WebForms /.NET
• Comfortable working in messy backlogs and database‑driven systems
• Confident using AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code or similar) to accelerate delivery
• Able to review, refactor and validate AI‑generated code
• Pragmatic, delivery‑focused, and willing to challenge requirements
