Scala Developer (x2) – UK Government Client

£470 / £415 per day – Inside IR35
Initial 3‑month contract | Start ASAP

We are recruiting two Scala Developers for a high-profile UK Government programme, supporting the delivery of scalable, secure digital services.

The Roles

• Role 1: £470 per day (Inside IR35)
• Role 2: £415 per day (Inside IR35)

Both roles are offered on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong chance of extension.

Location: Remote-first with travel to Newcastle once per sprint (approximately every 2 weeks).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Scala
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following TDD principles
• Collaborate with product managers, testers, and other engineers in an agile environment
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions
• Support continuous improvement of development standards and practices

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Scala
• Experience working on UK Government or public sector projects
• Solid understanding and hands-on use of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience working in agile, sprint-based teams

Nice to Have

• Pega experience or exposure
