Principal Technologist

Principal Technologist – Contract

We are seeking a hands‑on Principal Technologist to support a major UK Government programme, focused on legacy IT remediation and modernisation.

This is a senior technical role where you’ll be actively designing, prototyping, and delivering solutions-not just defining strategy. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to rapidly test ideas, refine approaches, and implement practical improvements across complex systems.

Key Experience Required

• Strong hands‑on engineering / development background
• Proven experience building and prototyping technical solutions
• Experience working across large‑scale or enterprise systems
• Ability to work at pace, iterate quickly, and lead technical delivery
• Comfortable assessing multiple approaches and driving the best outcome

Contract Details

• Rate: £800 per day (Inside IR35)
• Duration: 12 months
• Location: London, Bristol, or Manchester (Hybrid)
• Clearance: BPSS minimum (SC preferred)
